is that only the winners of national young designers contests or those young designers, who have been selected by the recognized fashion institutions in their countries, are invited to participate in IYDC. This pre-selection process guarantees all finalists are of the highest talent and caliber. Each participating country has equal representation on the catwalk of this prestigious and internationally recognized contest. As a result, IYDC has earned the right to claim the prestigious status of being the international platform where the best emerging designers are showcased and introduced to internationally recognized fashion experts and media.
Behind each young talent there is the support of professional organizations from within each of the participating countries. The professional network of International Young Designers Contest includes organizations from 14 countries.
Internationally acclaimed and recognized fashion experts from worldwide Fashion Capitals make up IYDC JURY. They conduct one-on-one interviews with every contestant, giving valuable feedback for their professional development.
IYDC program includes: lectures, workshops, Fashion Visual Art Residence, media briefings, mini exhibits, Gala catwalk show and Award ceremony.
Due to the global unprecedented situation with COVID – 19, IYDC 2020 will be organized totally on-line. The online format meets the requirements of current situation, and still provides young designers with opportunities to get international exposure and new experience.
The winner of IYDC is selected based on his/her one-on-one interview with the International Jury Board and catwalk presentation of his/her collection. The winner will receive 5 000 US dollars and the scholarship for 2 week summer course at IED, Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan. The value of IYDC for each finalist is the priceless experience of presenting their collections at a professionally organized catwalk show, as well as the new competencies and skills acquired in Fashion Visual Art Residence. IYDC also creates opportunities for culture exchange of ideas and networking with their peers from other participating countries.
