Fashion Visual Art Residence: open call for young photographers

The Fashion Visual Art Residence (FVAR), which will be held on July 6 and 7 in Kyiv in the frame of the 2nd International Young Designers Contest, announces the submission of application for young photographers who are working in the sphere of fashion photography and related.

The selected photographers will be grouped with finalists of the 2nd International Young Contest to create fashion stories with ideas to present diversity of fashion looks created by young designers from 10 countries, in a way the liberty of individual talents and expressions are not conflicting and fighting for attention, but rather synergy and harmony. In one visual context, it is the story of human society today: diverse, but tolerant, where individualistic talents are synergized in a multicultural environment.

The unique value of FVAR visual content will be created through the combination of looks by young designers from different countries with creative perspectives and authentic ideas of young photographers. The FVAR outcome is a special offline and online fashion-photo exposition, as the modern-art object of intercultural exchange. The Curator of FVAR,

Giovanni Ottonello, Professor, Creative Director of IED – Istituto Europeo di Design (Milan) together with other mentors, an expert photographer and fashion editors of top fashion magazines (Vogue, Harpers’ Bazaar and Elle) will select the winning work of a young photographer, who will be awarded with the scholarship for a summer course at IED – Istituto Europeo di Design (of his/her choice).

If you are young photographer who is interested to participate in the Fashion Visual Art Residence, please, submit the following materials to e-mail by June 10, 2019:

  • Portfolio of 5-10 photos with fashion objects
  • Resume in English (two paragraphs about yourself and your creative inspiration in photography, include the photo of yourself)

The participation in the residence is free of charge, although accommodation in Kyiv is not provided. All participating photographers are expected to have their own equipment for a photo shooting session and a laptop with the software necessary to edit the images before print. The language of Residence is English.
