Emerging designer prize. Bratislava Design Week 2017
I want to break the existing misconception that clothes from designers are only for special occasions, that offbeat and extraordinary garments could not be a part of day-to-day wear. I believe that designer clothing is only real when it becomes a genuine part of everyday life of our clients. Seeing people, particular men, on the streets wearing local designer clothing makes my heart to rejoice, seeing them wearing my designer clothing is the highest grati cation for myself and the best proof of my accomplishments. Although I’m only at the start of my professional pathway and I want to bring my brand to another level so it becomes a part of everyday men's wardrobe. My last collection is created in the form of wearable “sculptures” through application of composites into fabrics. It was inspired by a series of photographs created in collaboration with photographer Ľuboš Kotlár: shooting people wearing the pieces from collection for one year. Drawing attention to the existing problems in the fashion industry is not an exception nowadays, but rather a mainstream among designers, what brings more responsibility and ethics into the future of the fashion. I’m also a strong believer that the Slovak fashion industry will again stand on its own feet.
